Project Maggie
I played Warhammer 40000 as a kid, and as a young man, but fell away due to family and financial needs.
When GW came out with their Imperial Knights faction a few years ago, I came back.
I have always loved mechs and mecha, and combining them with the grimdark 40K setting was right in my wheelhouse.
But, you know me, I like to fiddle and customize.
There are two major styles of Knights (besides Chaos, which are their own thing). Imperialis, which are noble houses that have sworn their loyalty to the God-Emperor, and Mechanicus, which pay lip-service to the Emperor, but actually owe their loyalty to Mars.
I prefer the smoother, cleaner lines, design-wise, of the Imperialis styling.
The problem is, a lot of cool designs, as far as game specs, are reserved for the Mechanicus.
Screw those toaster-lovers. I want Lightning Cannons and Death Rays, too! ;)
So, I designed and printed parts to make conversions possible, as well as start making inroads to make my own mech designs. The fact that they are cross-compatible is merely coincidental. ;)
So, enough yakking. Here's some pretty pictures of mechs.
Back when I was freelance sculpting, I used to drown my clients in parts options. Before cheap and detailed 3D printing (buy an Elegoo Saturn, btw), it was probably a burden on the people commissioning work from me, having to pick and choose which files to spend money prototyping and casting.
Now, going directly to the consumer, they can pick and choose which parts strike their fancy, and are print-worthy.
Best,
JBR
