It may not be 10x better, but the results are substantial enough to greatly decrease finishing time and makes casting from the print far more probable.

Thanks for the info!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14039722950635545527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080740332681441097.post-11700584175134708962013-10-05T21:28:23.752-07:002013-10-05T21:28:23.752-07:00Stephen,

Sorry about the delay.

The difference in price is very substantial, even at the Frosted Ultra Detail level of printing. Like, by a magnitude of 10.

But, again, FUD is Shapeway's best level of detail, and it can't really compare to a Perfactory build.

If you're going to make a commercial model for sale, I'd still stick with Moddler. The level of customer support and expertise from John V. can't be beat.

Best,
JBRJohn Bear Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16155726230456091639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080740332681441097.post-51656475744398542472013-09-17T21:12:46.235-07:002013-09-17T21:12:46.235-07:00I look forward to seeing the comparison. Moddler seems more legitimate for a prototype miniature.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14039722950635545527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080740332681441097.post-74492844416645642012013-09-17T04:42:54.174-07:002013-09-17T04:42:54.174-07:00Stephen, I will upload the files tonight to Shapew...Stephen, I will upload the files tonight to Shapeways for a quote.

I can tell you that an Objet print through Shapeways will be much less.

But, it's also apples to oranges, quality-wise, as you said.

High-resolution Perfactory machine printouts are leaps and bound ahead of older machines.

Best,
JBRJohn Bear Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16155726230456091639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8080740332681441097.post-12653526646881367972013-09-16T11:38:26.112-07:002013-09-16T11:38:26.112-07:00Nice!
